Colonel (retired) Tony Burgess graduated from West Point in 1990 and served in a variety of Army units and as a Professor of Leader Development & Organizational Learning at West Point. Most recently, Tony led an advisory team in Afghanistan. He has a Masters in Counseling & Leadership Development and a Doctorate in Engineering Management. He coauthored two books and has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and research reports. His work founding and leading a peer-to-peer leadership network for junior officers in the Army has been held up as a model for cutting-edge leader development and peer-to-peer learning (Harvard Business Review, Fast Company Magazine). He and his team created the interactive "Leadership Challenge" methodology for developing cadets at West Point—which transformed the way the Academy prepares cadets. Tony brings his academic and practical experience to Task Force 144 with a vision of having a transformational impact on leaders, teams, and communities.
