Media Reporter
Richard Deitsch is a writer and editor at Sports Illustrated, SI.com and TheMMQB.com. He has covered seven Olympic Games, NCAA championships and Super Bowls, and worked for nearly every division of SI, including the Swimsuit Issue, SI For Women and SI For Kids. His specialties include sports media, women's athletics, tennis and the Olympics. Deitsch spent the 2008-09 academic year studying as a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan, where he examined the intersection of 20-somethings and the sports blogosphere. Deitsch has a B.A. in Communications and Political Science from the University at Buffalo and an M.S. from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, where he works as an adjunct professor, teaching sports journalism. He has won a number of writing awards and in 2012 Mashable.com named him as one of the “11 Sports Writers You Need to Follow on Twitter.” He is married, the father of twins, and always wishes the best for Buffalo's snakebitten sports teams.
