M. Omar CISSE is the General Manager of an SME investment fund which will be officially launched in 2015 in Senegal. He was the General Manager of CTIC Dakar, the first and leading incubator in francophone West Africa dedicated to IT and mobile entrepreneurs. He is passionate about ICT and entrepreneurship. Since September 2010, he had decided to share his experience with young entrepreneurs by running CTIC Dakar, an innovative private-public incubator based on a sustainable business model designed in partnership with Infodev (World Bank). After one year, CTIC Dakar has been awarded as the best ICT incubator in the Economic and Monetary Union of West Africa and features an average companies’ growth of more than 85%. After 3 years the incubators has reached 73% of self-sustainability. Omar started the incubator in Dakar and helped Orange duplicate the model in Niger. From 2005 to 2010, Omar was the CEO of 2SI, one of the leading West African software and mobile services company, which he co-founded in 2001 with classmates during his masters’ degree. Omar is also one of the founders of the Senegalese ICT Business Association (OPTIC), which started in 2008. Omar holds and MSc in Computer Science from Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique de Dakar, he followed a graduating Management course in 2007 and a training on Business Incubation by InfoDev in 2011. He’s a certified trainer by infodev on incubation.
