Leon Krauze is a renowned and award-winning Mexican journalist, author and news anchor. He began his career as a sports journalist, focusing on soccer. That passion led him to become not only an expert and official chronicler of the Mexican national team but also a highly regarded historian: he has written four books and eighty documentaries on the history of "futbol" in Mexico. In 1997, Krauze switched gears, obsessing over American politics. For almost twenty years, he has followed politics in the United States, having covered the last four election cycles for various media outlets, both in America and Mexico. In 2005 he published "La Casa Dividida", an account of the first five years of the Bush presidency. His work has been published in Foreign Affairs, The New Republic, Foreign Policy, Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, El Pais, Letras Libres, among many others. He has interviewed leading political figures such as Juan Manuel Santos, Nick Clegg, Felipe Calderón, Enrique Peña Nieto, Shimon Peres and Barack Obama. For five years, Krauze hosted "Segunda Emisión", Mexico's highest rated afternoon radio newsmagazine. Upon moving to television, Krauze quickly became a success as well, anchoring "Hora 21", the main newscast for Foro TV, Televisa's 24/7 news network. Krauze is currently the main anchor at Univision's Los Angeles station, KMEX, where he hosts the nation's highest rated news shows, regardless of language. Since his arrival to the United States in 2011, Krauze has won four Emmy's, two Golden Mics and an Edward R. Murrow award. He's also a frequent contributor to Fusion, where he hosted the show "Open Source" He is an accomplished fantasy novelist. His novel, "El vuelo de Eluán", has sold over 20 thousand copies in Mexico. He has written two other books for young adults, both bestsellers as well. He lives in Los ANgele with his wife and 3 sons, where he loses sleep over soccer and the beautiful tomatoes he grows in his backyard. He tweets at @Leon_Krauze.
