Jody is the force behind the social media presence for all four businesses with over 40,000 independent followers on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram alone for The Friendly Spot. You can often find Jody mentoring future small business owners through Café Commerce or as an SA2020 Ambassador with a passion in Downtown Development. Jody makes great efforts to have her businesses support local start-ups. And participates in think tanks to develop and carry out great ideas for San Antonio. She was also Fiesta Cornyation’s first ever Queen Anchovy I, raising a record breaking amount for San Antonio’s AIDS related charities. Jody is the wife of Steve Newman, proud daughter Judy Bailey and is the middle of 5 sisters. She is an amazing mother of 2 children under 10. Jody has a passion for Women’s issues and is an outspoken advocate for female small business owners. Jody is a resident of Southtown and is very active in her community. She loves riding her Vespa, bike riding with her family and sitting on her porch. Jody is one of the largest independent buyers of Craft Beer in South Texas. And you can often find her in the corner of a local downtown hang-out just being a supporter. She’s the one drinking the glass of Pinot Noir.
