Dir of Booking
For over thirty five years, Jeffrey Chabon has successfully worked in the live music industry working with and for promoters, artists, venues, corporate clients, sports franchises, not for profits, municipalities and media groups. Chabon began his event planning skills in college working with the Student Government Concert Committee at University of Arizona. From there he moved on to work in minor league sports cutting his teeth with both the Toledo Mud Hens and the Toledo Goaldiggers hockey team as Marketing Director where he focused on developing sales and client promotions. Relocating to South Florida for the first time where his passion for music and concerts took hold, Chabon began working with Fantasma Productions as the Director of Promotions and Special Events. He developed and executed the marketing and public relations for all Fantasma concerts and properties which was in excess of 150 a year as well as initiated and managed special events and festivals all over Florida and Las Vegas. Leaving Florida, he served as the VP of Marketing for World Entertainment Services a Concerts West Company where he was responsible for marketing and booking of the Kansas City Sandstone Amphitheatre. While there, Chabon secured and executed corporate sponsorships and created new events as well as ran the advertising and marketing department. During his tenure, a number one MTV video was shot at this venue under Chabon’s direction of the event program with the rock group, Warrant. Recruited to Toronto to work for Concert Productions International/BCL Group, Chabon served as the Tour Marketing Director for the Paul Simon, Born at the Right Time North American Tour, David Bowie, Sound & Vision World Tour and Cats Arena Tour. Chabon was hired in 1992 by Kings Entertainment Corporation in Charlotte, NC where he was the Marketing Manager for the Palladium Amphitheatre at Carowinds Theme Park. Chabon created special events along with managing the traditional concerts in the 13,000 capacity venue and brought in over $300,000 of new sponsorship business. With sharpened entertainment marketing skills, Chabon was lured back to Fantasma in 1993. At Fantasma, Chabon created a new division focusing on Sponsorship and New Event Development and Marketing further increasing his unique approach to new entertainment oriented concepts by creating national, regional, and local concerts and events with corporations, media groups, venues and municipalities. In 1999 when SFX started buying promoters, Chabon launched the Chabon Entertainment Group to enable corporations to own their own concert tours and events so they would realize even greater profit share, retail extension vendor programs and a more hands on approach to marketing. CEG created the following events: the Heineken Music that Makes History Tour and West Palm Beaches’ CityPlace Entertainment Program which included the Volkswagen Concert Series and Sunday Jazz in the Plaza with known artists: Bruce Hornsby, David Sanborn, Naji and others. In 2001 Chabon moved the Chabon Entertainment Group to Nashville, TN to provide contracted services to TBA Entertainment on its Tony Hawk Tour Project. Chabon added the Lake Worth Playhouse and Maltz Jupiter Theatre to work in the not-for-profit sector of entertainment venues on a suggestion that 501c(3) entities needed additional direction in marketing and new revenue opportunities. Chabon was hired by AEG Facilities in May 2008 to be the Booking Director at the AT&T Center and Freeman Coliseum for Spurs Sports and Entertainment. His responsibilities include the traditional concert and event bookings, development of new events and festivals in the Bud Light Courtyard and outdoor parking lot areas as well as the day to day booking operations of the venues.
