With over 10 years experience in the publishing and entertainment industry, Georgette Cline, a graduate of New York University, has written for the pages of VIBE, Complex, GIANT, TRACE, XXL, YRB, Black Beat, Right On! and Rap-Up magazines, as well as digital outlets such as the Associated Press, Vibe.com and Rap-Up.com. From 2007 to 2009, Georgette held the Senior Editor role at renowned urban teen magazines Black Beat and Right On!. She was also a Senior Editor with Rap-Up magazine and Rap-Up.com — a site featuring interviews and news coverage on pop culture’s brightest stars — from 2006 to 2011. She moved on to a Weekend Editor position at AOL Music and then became the Deputy Editor for AOL’s music site TheBoomBox.com — a destination for interviews and news centered around hip-hop and R&B. In 2012, she launched Townsquare Media’s first hip-hop and R&B site TheDrop.fm. Georgette currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of TheBoombox.com, which is now under the Townsquare Media umbrella. Besides her work as a journalist, editor and writer, she was an Internet radio host with the “Rotten Apple Chicks,” an on-camera entertainment show featured weekly on AListRadio.net. She launched the Ladies First charity organization in 2013, which is a yearly fundraising event designed to raise money for Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation's domestic violence program. Georgette has also been tapped to share her expert opinion with such outlets as MTV News and CBS’ The Insider.
