Eric Nelson, a career diplomat in the Senior Foreign Service, is the Director of the Office of eDiplomacy, an applied technology think tank for the United States Department of State. As part of the Bureau of Information Resource Management, eDiplomacy supports U.S. diplomats across the globe with collaborative technologies, promotes technology innovations to both foreign affairs colleagues and civil society partners, and advocates for users' needs in IT investments and services. Fedscoop magazine recognized Eric as one of 14 visionaries in Federal IT in 2014 leading government into a new technology landscape with innovative ideas and by inspiring others to get on board.
