Emily is a social impact expert who believes that business principles can help solve social problems. She is currently a strategist on Edelman San Francisco’s Business + Social Purpose team and has ten years of experience advising both entrepreneurs and large companies on how to grow using communications. Emily has led sustainability strategy work for top brands like Facebook, IKEA, Intuit, Kashi, steelcase inc, The North Face, and Zappos. Previously, at MissionCTRL Communications, Emily developed PR strategy for early stage technology clients in green buildings, energy efficiency, mobility, and bio-based materials. She also led the Board Fellows program at The University of Maryland’s Center for Social Value Creation where MBA students served as board members and strategic advisors to humanitarian NGOs. Emily holds a BS cum laude from UC Berkeley in Natural Resource Management and an MBA from The University of Maryland where she led the school’s Net Impact chapter.
