Charles Barkley is in his 15th full season as an NBA studio analyst for TNT’s Emmy® award-winning studio show Inside the NBA. • Barkley won the 2012 Sports Emmy® Award as Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Analyst • Since 2011, Barkley has served as a studio analyst for CBS and Turner’s NCAA Division I Men’s Championship coverage. • Barkley was named the 2002 "Personality of the Year" by Sports Illustrated. CAREER • Drafted fifth overall out of Auburn University by Philadelphia in 1984, Barkley spent 16 seasons in the NBA with the 76ers (1984-92), Phoenix Suns (1992-1996) and Houston Rockets (1996-2000). • Barkley retired after the 1999-2000 NBA season and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. He was also inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. • Barkley won the NBA MVP Award in 1993, is a five-time All-NBA first team selection and was a member of 11 All-Star teams. • While representing the United States, Barkley was the leading scorer for the gold medal-winning 1992 Olympic Dream Team and the 1996 Olympic Team. • Named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, Barkley is 20th all-time in NBA scoring and upon his retirement was one of only four players in NBA history with at least 23,000 points, 12,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists. • Barkley is a member of Auburn University’s All-Century team and was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. • Since 2001, Auburn University, the 76ers and Suns have retired Barkley’s No. 34 jersey. PERSONAL • Barkley has authored four books: Who’s Afraid of a Large Black Man? (2005), I May Be Wrong but I Doubt It (2002), Sir Charles (1995) and Outrageous! (1992). • Barkley has made numerous donations to the Auburn University Foundation, the Cornerstone Schools in Alabama, Leeds High School (his alma mater), Macedonia Baptist Church (Leeds, AL) and the Minority Health & Research Center at UAB Birmingham.
