Bryan Kortis currently serves as a program manager for PetSmart Charities, overseeing their Free-roaming Cat Spay/Neuter grants as well as other initiatives designed to humanely and effectively manage feral and stray cat populations. The co-founder and former executive director of Neighborhood Cats, Bryan has produced many of the leading educational materials on the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) method of cat population control, including PetSmart Charities Community TNR: Tactics and Tools, The Neighborhood Cats TNR Handbook and the instructional video, How to Perform a Mass Trapping. He served as a consultant to The Humane Society of the United States on their feral cat program, is a frequent presenter on free-roaming cat issues, has led collaborative efforts with animal control, wildlife and public health agencies, and has helped launch successful TNR programs in New York City and communities throughout the United States. Bryan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and a J.D. from University of California, Berkeley. He formerly practiced as an appellate attorney as well as a video director and editor.
