Ms. Buyum graduated from Middle East Technical University summa cum laude in 2008, obtaining a BSc. in Sociology and a minor in Industrial Design. After that she got Dean’s scholarship from Bilkent University for her M.A. studies in Design and Communication. She wrote her thesis on perception of popular culture and audience analysis, she co-edited a book on New Media Theories and attended many conferences on Media and Visual Studies. Upon obtaining her graduate degree she started to work as a designer in ad agencies and over the years she switched to tech companies focusing on user experience. She joined Kimola over a year ago, as a Creative Director and soon became the Director of Kimola Analytics, a service that provides business intelligence and data analytics for TV. With Kimola Analytics, Bestem and her team brought Social TV to Turkey and since then they are leading that field with their technology and knowledge. Her field of interests are data analytics, social analytics, audience studies and fan cultures.
