Music Supervisor Pitch Session 1
The new Music Licensing Pitch Sessions offer all registrants and artists direct feedback from licensing, sync, and music supervision experts. They will offer you a glimpse at the viability of licensing your music for different genres of film, TV, commercials and more. You submit your song, tell us what you think it could be used in, and you'll receive honest feedback from our panel.
This year, we can accept digital submissions for these sessions. You must send a direct link to your hosted track (ie, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, etc.); DO NOT email attached MP3s! Links for Music Licensing Pitch Sessions can go to musicpitch@sxsw.com. Physical CDs will also be accepted at the door.

The (Real) Market Value of a Music Placement
In today’s ever-fluctuating music biz paradigm, one of the few things rarely disputed is the "value" of a film, TV, video game or advertising placement. We all know the tale of the band that went from unknown to household name based on the strength of an iTunes commercial or a prominent use on a hit show. But, how does that translate to the average artist and do all placements stack up? Using real-world case studies, this panel will discuss the unique alchemy that often has to exist to make a single music supervision moment truly hit and translate into quantitative career results, as well as the variety of factors to consider when determining the potential worth of a music use.
