12:00pm: Jam With Yourself – Generating Worthy Musical Ideas with Ableton Push
Alongside special guest artist Decap, Dubspot instructor and Ableton Certified Trainer Adriano Clemente aka CapCom will demonstrate creating a beat from scratch with Ableton Push. He will first build a rhythmic foundation and then explore different melodic ideas via improvisational jamming over the beat. Topics of discussion include beat sequencing, adding and manipulating instruments, working with effects and automation, improvisation, arrangement and incorporating external hardware.
1:30pm: Group Therapy – Ableton Live for Stage Performance
Joined by special guest artist Paul Brenner, drummer of the NY band Joywave, Dubspot instructor and Ableton Certified Trainer Dan Freeman aka CØm1x will demonstrate how to integrate Ableton Live 9 into a live band or ensemble performance setup. Topics of demonstration and discussion include synching drums to Live, processing instruments and vocals, integrating a computer into a band context, bringing studio productions to stage, and live performance with Push in an ensemble setting.
3:00pm: Next Level Status – Ableton Artist Panel Discussion
Developments in digital technology have provided musicians more tools than ever to create music and express themselves in interesting new ways. In a world with so many options, how do you find your unique workflow to express yourself? How is it possible to keep pushing the boundaries and find avenues to achieve new styles and next-level creativity? Moderated by aforementioned Dubspot instructors and Ableton Certified Trainers Adriano Clemente and Dan Freeman, panelists and special guest artists Kode9, Ikonika, DJ Spinn & Kastle will explore these questions and more. Topics to include workflow, live production and performance techniques, collaboration, creative constraints and how to get past them and more.
4:30pm: Ableton Trivia Game Show
COME ON DOWN!
