Longform Journalism: What Is It and What's Next?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Longform journalism is nothing new. Books and magazines have been doing “longform” for centuries. What is new is the kind of journalism that uses some of the tools that we did not have a couple years ago. These tools remove you from where you are and take you on a journey in a way that a tweet or a blog post is not going to do. This is the kind of journalism that continues the story beyond the written word so that as you are reading, you are inside the journey of the story. That kind of “immersive storytelling” is what is new.
This panel of some of the foremost leaders in “immersive storytelling” will discuss their thoughts on the future of the medium. This will include what’s next in content enhancements, how new audiences are identified and retained, the impact of this platform on public discussion, and finally we will attempt to rebrand this content for the world.
