Privacy has gone from a niche concern to a mainstream fear, and brands are struggling to keep up. Much of the debate is about our anxieties today, but by looking to Gen Z, we can understand a future-facing discourse. Teens are developing their own language of privacy creating a cultural tightrope between freedom and control. Fashion and privacy share themes of protection, nuance, context, identity and safety. We will explore the links between Gen Z’s privacy and fashion privacy innovations (focus, distraction-free and stealth).
Annie Auerbach, Global Joint Head Cultural Intelligence, Flamingo Group will share new research on Gen Z & Privacy. And Eliza Esquivel, VP Global Brand and Creative Excellence at Mondelez, will explain Focus: Life Gear by Trident, a conceptual fashion line made with radio frequency shielding fabric. Trident’s fashion line not only takes a stance on the privacy debate, it actively leads the charge in promoting a distraction-free, focus-friendly way of living.
