Internet radio is now the third most popular way that people discover new music and nearly 70% of smartphone users listen to music on their phones. While streaming and compressed music gives us the convenience and mobility to have millions of songs at our fingertips, technology (for better or worse) has changed our musical experience and we have sold out quality. With compressed music, we’re losing portions of the original recording. The presentation will address all aspects of audio creation (from the recording studio to the listening experience), how the industry is combating bad sound, and what producers and mainstream consumers can expect in the future.
