Is the golden age of programming really 22? Kent Brewster does not think so. At 53, Kent is the author of Pinterest's browser extensions, photographer attribution program, and the third-party JavaScript behind the Pin It button, which is seen billions of times per day all over the Internet.
In this talk, Kent will explode some common myths, such as: younger managers can't handle older employees; you shouldn't hire people with lives outside of work and only new grads have the stamina required for "crunch time".
He will also talk frankly about what older engineers can do to find work, stay employed and avoid getting shunted into middle management.
