A University's Role in Funding Startups

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In our experience, most founders believe they need to raise money to get to the next phase of their startup's development. Although many startups are premature in seeking capital, by understanding that money is a powerful draw for entrepreneurs the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute has been able to use it as a tool for attracting entrepreneurs into our programs and networks. Once the entrepreneur is engaged, we can help them assess what their true capital needs are as well as what other activities they should be doing to further their venture's development. We can then support them more effectively. In this session, we will discuss the role universities can play in providing funding for startups at different stages of development and we'll share some examples of the types of funds NYU has in place.
A few examples include:
NYU Innovation Venture Fund
NYU Prototyping Fund
NYU Green Grants
