From re-commerce to up-cycling to ‘less is more’ models, we’ve seen everyone from innovative startups to iconic retailers shifting their focus to social change & doing their part to mitigate the effects of fashion production on the environment. And consumers are following suit. A 2014 Nielsen study showed that a global average of 55% of consumers are willing to pay more for products & services from companies committed to positive social & environmental impact, an increase of 10% from three years prior. Perhaps the biggest consumer segment driving this growing trend has been millennials, actively opposing brands not focused on social good, or negatively impacting the environment. In this panel, we’ll discuss the future of sustainable fashion. Will this growing trend become the new norm or will it fizzle out? What will become of fast fashion brands? Will they get on board to stay competitive and do their part? Will they survive as is, due to accessible pricing? Or will they die out?--
