"The dystopia that worries me is a universe in which a few geniuses invent Google and its ilk and the rest of us are employed giving them massages,” said Chrystia Freeland, former journalist and member of the Canadian Office. Freeland gave an inspiring and informative talk in June 2013 on the growing gap between the working poor and the “increasingly disconnected mega-rich.”
But plutocracy driven by globalization and the technological revolution is difficult to criticize as the advancement of technology clearly also has upsides. How are we to evaluate the growing gap between the public and a new form of aristocracy driven by technology?
