avatar for Vulpes

For the past few years, Brooklyn resident Treya Lam's presence on stage has been sanguine, collected, and impossible to shake, which is why she's been known as 'Vulpes,' which is Latin for 'fox.' From her intimate solo performances to sharing the spotlight with a classical ensemble, Treya has a beguiling effect on listeners.

A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, Treya’s voice is compared to Fiona Apple, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. Effortlessly singing with her piano, guitar or viola accompaniment, her voice has a cool to it that outlines its warmth. She has the power to move an audience to tears with her dynamic range, emotional depth, and pure beauty.

Born in Taiwan but brought up in New York, Treya (aka Vulpes) was raised with roots in two lands. Her Chinese-American background connects her with audiences around the world, with a sense of cultural identity in both Asia and the USA.

While living in Brooklyn, she was discovered and signed by the CEO of Amazing Artists, Paul Campbell. Amazing is currently developing Treya's music, including her first recordings, which will be available in English and Chinese in 2015.
