The Wet Secrets

The Wet Secrets are a six-piece rock'n'roll dance band that plays the kind of music you could expect to hear if The Stranglers piggybacked Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass through the Rose Parade. Swampy basslines, primal drumming, dancing ladies with brassy hornstacks, keys, congas, & vocal harmonies galore.

Formed on a dare by Lyle Bell, Trevor Anderson and Kim Rackel, the bass and horn heavy sextet burst onto the scene with 2006's A Whale of a Cow CD. Written and recorded within one week of the band's formation, it was a clarion call to anyone within earshot that The Wet Secrets had arrived.

With the deceptively sunny “Free Candy” (Feb 2014) gaining acclaim with the Best Rock Recording WCMA nomination, followed by winning the first Peak Performance Project Alberta, taking home the $100,953.00 prize, and topping out the year in many Best of 2014 lists.

2015 will introduce the next recording to be titled “Tyranny of Objects” and will be released in the Fall of 2015, on Six Shooter Records. Leading the parade at festivals and shows throughout the Spring and Summer, The Wet Secrets will also release 2 summer singles (available on 7” vinyl) “I Can Swing a Hammer” and “If I Was a Camera”.
