The Miseries

The Miseries is the newest project of Dutch singer-songwriter Tim Knol, who is best known for his more delicate pop songs. The band was formed when four friends decided it was about time to do something with their love of punk. They cranked up their amps and laid down the first tracks the very next day. With the distortion turned on, volume at 11 and a much raspier voice, this is Tim Knol like we've never heard him before.

The 4-piece from Amsterdam went their separate ways ten years ago after starting out as a local guitarpop band. After surfing, singing and drumming all over the world the band got back together early this year to pick up their first love, garagerock with clear references to punk and powerpop. The bands spiky, unbridled energy on stage has been transferred to their untitled debut-record, to be released on Excelsior Recordings (Jacco Gardner, Triggerfinger, traumahelikopter) late March 2015.

The band recently played Eurosonic-Noorderslag and Le Guess Who? Festivals and are touring Europe this summer.
