SMUC THE WORLD

You probably think of oil when you hear the words Midland, Texas, but if you ask the hip-hop community about their local artists, they're most likely to mention 'SMUC THE WORLD' first. This is one self-made entrepreneur and hip-hop artist that brings old school values to the game, but definitely not an old school sound. One thing is for sure though; Smuc has managed to put West Texas on the map in more ways than just one. Crashing the rap scene in 2004, Smuc lives and breathes the (Block-Loraine) movement and represents the city to the fullest. Investing in his craft and putting heavy emphasis on visuals and inimitable lyrics, he leaves every song and video to take on its own unique identity. His earliest influences included artists such as Big L, Jadakiss, Cassidy, Cypress Hill, The X- Ecutioners, Dj Q-Bert, Bob Marley and UGK. Presently, his influences include the whole Dirty 3rd camp (DJ Bull, Chalie Boy, Dibbles), Madchild and Snow Tha Product; respecting work ethics, footwork, passion and independence from the main stream.

We all know desiring success doesn't get the job done, it takes hard work and a constant grind to get noticed and heard, so it's no surprise to know that Smuc nailed those qualities a long time ago. As a natural businessman, Smuc is able to level his sound and lyrics with a hand of accuracy. His distinct voice and Ad-lib's keep your attention, while his unique lyrical style has proven to veer him in a lane all by himself and represent Texas to a tee. Always thinking outside the box and staying open minded with collaborations, Smuc's production affiliates range from Anthony Russ (Houston, TX), Scotty Wu (Kansas) to West Texas' Boogie Beats, ICEE Studios and Roskauma. Currently, Smuc is working on a new EP entitled, "Round Here It Don't Stop" and "Smuc's World Part 2", which include features from Devin the Dude, Lil Flip, Trae and Bay area's Mistah Fab. He will also be releasing his highly anticipated "Smuc's World" DVD in 2015, which will include already released, and a slew of brand new music videos.

Smuc has proven to be a blessing in the small town of Midland, Texas. With the help of his entourage, Smuc has managed to use his status to make a difference in the community. Providing full meals for more than 250 families with his annual "Thanksgiving Food Drive", handing out hundreds of backpacks filled with "Back To School" supplies for needy families and being the leader behind his yearly Christmas "Toy & Coat Drive", Smuc's selfless acts of kindness has made him a hometown hero. In a monopoly where cars, women and jewelry flood the hip-hop industry, Smuc stays focused and puts great effort into more significant things, like giving back and creating a blueprint of values for posterity. He attributes his success to God, his family and a chosen few who have always given him valuable advice. So, I'd say Midland has definitely struck oil with this one (no pun intended)... This small town city with an abundance of wealth will never be the same! Pat on the back to Midland "Moneyland" Texas, for birthing an asset to society; a true leader in both music and positive community influences - an individual and artist who is the epitome of "Leading By Example"...
