Sam Pinkerton

Sam Pinkerton, a writer of stories and songs, originally from Venice Beach, Florida, moved to Nashville to establish herself as independent songstress. Since 2006, Sam has been singing, playing and perfecting her craft. In 2011, she toured as the front lady of indie-folk band, Someone Like Tommy; but in 2012, began recording her first solo, full-length record titled, An Introduction. She believes these songs wholeheartedly represent her as an artist but more so as a writer. This record, produced by Sam herself alongside engineer, and friend Alena Moran at Station West, Ocean Way and RCA Studio B. Many hands went into the making of this record and features her friends in COIN, Judah & The Lion, The Lonely Biscuits, Acklen, Thad Kopec, Liza Anne and more. Nashville mixing engineer, Konrad Snyder, known for his work with Kopeky Family Band and Sugar and the Hi-Lows, took these songs and turned them into something beautiful. An Introduction holds featured songs, Stay Here, I Will Never Fall in Love with You, Calling You Out, and debut single, Falling For You. From the first to the last, these eleven songs will captivate you until her last word. With this record, Sam has grabbed the attention of many wandering souls, creating a tight-nit fan base who she now plays for regularly. This Fall, she will be touring up and down the east coast with Liza Anne, Corey Kilgannon, and Aliza Carter Band throughout November and December playing songs off of An Introduction. Visit closeup.fm for cities and dates. There has been talk of an EP in the works for Sam, with a release just in time for tour. Her second full length, currently in the works, is preparing to be released late spring of 2015. With a promising future ahead of her, Sam continues to stay dedicated to writing, for she believes her purpose is to create art that inspires and relates.
