Modern Chemistry formed in and around Rutgers University in June of 2012. After putting out a few songs, the foursome recorded a full EP, We'll Grow Out Of This, and started playing shows around their hometowns in NJ. A staple headliner at New Brunswick’s Court Tavern, their textured heavier alt-rock sound and frenetic live shows eventually led to high profile East Coast opening slots with acts like NGHBRS, Waaves, Echosmith, The Swellers, frnkiero andthe cellabration and Taking Back Sunday.

Their new EP, Self Help Guide for Being Alone, was also self-released on Aug 9, 2014 and they kept up the momentum by continuing to play higher profile east coast shows, culminating in an opening spot at Jersey’s famed Starland Ballroom in late December. The critically acclaimed EP showed up on several “Best Of” Year-End lists including Diabolique, Speak Into My Good Eye and NJ.Com. 2015 kicks off with their first full tour running from February 18 through April 2 supporting frnkiero andthe cellabration through the US and Eastern Canada. Simply put, “New Jersey, specifically New Brunswick, has been an incredible home for us. This journey has been amazing every step of the way and we couldn't be more excited to take a step out of the basements, hit the road and see the rest of the country.”
